2099 shocking rules!!!!

Talking about marvel's future that never was

Rambling about Nueva York before it was cool

How I Got Hooked

A lot more people have started to talk about Marvel's dystopian future due to a certain wallcrawler appearing in a popular animated flick. Which is cool! Getting more eyes on 2099 is a good thing but surprisingly enough the Spiderverse movies weren't the first place I learned about it. I always enjoyed comics but I was never really a collector, I would go to garage and estate sales picking up whatever comics I would find. This lead to me going to a sale hosted at our local library with my dad. A comic shop that was a bit of a ways away had gone out of business and was liquidating all of it's comics. Boxes and boxes of somewhat sorted comics that I looked through for hours. Eventually a specific comic caught my eye, the first issue of Punisher 2099.

I was in highschool and something about the guns blazing cover and Punisher being the focal point fixated me. It probably also helped that, like with each first issue of a 2099 series, the cover had a shiny border. I am not immune to shiny propoganda. For the time being though I put the comic back, not sold on giving it a shot. That is until another shiny cover came up as a flipped through the boxes. The first issue of Ravage 2099, my first thought was "Who is Ravage?" and the next thought I had was "There's multiple 2099 comics?" After finding the shiny silver first issue of Doom 2099 I had made my decision, I was going to get them all. This purchase would send me down a path of a constant scavenger hunt any time I run into bulk comics. I had told myself I would only get the first issue of each series due to their shiny covers but as a read through them I found myself getting invested in the Blade Runner esque worldbuilding.

From there I began my search, with a few interesting tidbits to share as a result. This page will hold my 2099 related stories which become more interesting as people uncover more info about this intersting unviverse.
